Youth Camp Reminder Notes

The Youth Camp Preregistration should be sent to parents and children months before the youth camp begins by handing them out or even better mailing them out to each family and/or camper(s). There are some camp reminder notes that should be included with your forms such as the “What to Bring” and “Pick-Up Notice” reminder notes.

Preparing to send your children to camp can be a very stressful situation if you don’t have some kind of a list or some kind of a reminder to know exactly what they need to bring with them.

~

These youth camp reminder notes will be an asset to your camp and to the parents because they list the items and information that will make it easy to remember them when you’re preparing to send your children to camp and when you’re getting ready to pick them up.

The “What to Bring” note will help to remind you to pack items such as:

  • Bible
  • Clothing (one change a day for play, one change a day for church) plus swimming suits (see swimming rules), and one pajamas change a day)
  • Two Pair of Shoes (tennis shoes and church shoes) – Daily change of socks and underwear with 2 extra of each

YC Staff Application (2)& Reference Letters

There are two applications for your Youth Camp Staff. This application is to be filled out by your volunteers and/or staff who will be working in the youth camp. The first application below has two Reference Letters attached to it for two people to fill out that the volunteer knows personally who can give them a good reference.

Youth Camp would not be possible without the heart of camp volunteers and/or staff who works so extremely hard to make everything happen for the kids and helps to make sure everything goes smoothly.

With God leading and guiding our youth camp volunteers and/or staff the outcome of camp is always a success.

The name of our church camp is Front Lines Youth Camp. Our youth today are on the front lines and they need our guidance spiritually to fight the battles they fight especially in this day and time.

Youth Camp is a great ministry where spiritual leaders can give the youth a week of unbelievable fun and at the same time allow them to grow by leaps and bounds spiritually.

Youth Camp Staff should have an application filled out prior to camp just like the campers. The staff applications should include:

  • Name
  • Address & Phone
  • Date of Birth & Age
  • Email Address
  • Church Name
  • Background Questions (Christian or Not)
  • T-Shirt Size
  • Camp Position Desired
  • Age Group Desired
  • Special Skills or Abilities
  • Qualifying Experience
  • Reference Letter(s)
  • YC Staff Signature & Date

Every YC staff/volunteer after submitting their application should understand that they will placed in the area of camp that the YC leader feels appropriate and where they will be most needed. This is all a part of this ministry – to work where you are placed and know this is where you should be and do your very best to ensure that these children’s youth camp is a success.

Youth Camp Games & Activities

The Camp Games & Activities will create a memorable Youth Camp for your youth. Make your camp an inspiration spiritually and at the same time make it fun for these children.

Here are some YC Games/Activities to give you some ideas:

  • Bible Book Scramble – This game is one of the Youth Camp Activities that will be very educational and fun at the same time. Find 132 square boxes or milk crates all the same size if possible (2 sets of the books of the Bible). There are 66 books in the Bible (39 for Old Testament and 27 for New Testament) so you will be making 2 sets of the Bible. Use white poster board or copy paper and write the names of all the books of the Bible on each box/crate by taping paper to front of box/crate. Divide the boxes/crates by putting 1 set (66) on one side of room and the other set (6) on the other side of room and get 2 teams (5 on each team stacking and then divide the rest of the youth to be coaching the stackers). The object of the game is whoever gets their boxes stacked up (5 in a stack) in the correct order of the books of the Bible starting with the Old Testament through the New Testament first wins. This is a great way to teach your youth the correct order of the books of the Bible.
  • Everything’s Bananas – This game allows any size youth group a fun way to occupy free time. Hand out a list of items to each child or group to measure using bananas. The items you give them could be items such as pews, floor, rugs, altars, etc. Once everyone has measured everything on their list it’s turned into the youth leader. The child or group that measures the most items correctly wins. After the game is over then you can celebrate by making banana splits for everyone.
  • Water in Cup Relay – This is an outdoors game on a hot sunny day. These Youth Camp Games make the children very happy when they are hot and need to get cooled off a little. The object of this game is whichever team has the most water in their bucket at the end of the game wins. You will have to 2 teams and a full bucket of water by the line of team members and an empty bucket a set distance away from the team members. The game starts with a team member from both teams getting a cup (Styrofoam) of water from bucket and holding it on top of their head and running to the their empty bucket and pouring it in and running the empty cup back to their next team member. You can either time this relay or have whoever goes through each team member first stops the game, and then see who has the most water in the bucket – that team wins. Warning – children will get wet!
  • Blanket Volleyball – You will need 1 volleyball, blankets or sheets for each team and small to medium youth groups. You can use a volleyball net if you prefer, but not necessary. Divide into teams (4 children on each team) so that there will be 1 person holding each corner of the blanket/sheet. Have 1 team serve the volleyball by placing the volleyball in the middle of the blanket. They will lower the blanket and then raise it up quickly as a team to allow the volleyball to become air borne. The opposing team must catch the volleyball in their blanket and toss it back again.

One of the Youth Group Games below is:

Spud

Your youth group is going to love this game and they will want to play it all the time! This game is an alternative to dodgeball that’s less physically demanding, not as aggressive and better for playing with groups that have wide range of ages. However, it still has all the fund and action of dodgeball, while being more social and friendly.

Participants: 5 Minimum, No Maximum

Materials/Equipment: A Large, Safe Ball (Think Kickball) and Open Space Outside (Such as an Open Field or Parking Lot) or Indoors (Such as a Basketball Court)

Spud Game Rules and Instructions (Read Aloud to Group)

Everyone gathers in a circle and one player is ”It”. To start gameplay, “It” throws the ball in the air and shouts out another person’s name while everyone else runs away. The “New It” grabs the ball and shouts “STOP” as soon as they have possession of the ball. Holding the ball, the “New It” picks a “Target” and can take 4 big steps (Saying S-P-U-D if they like) toward the “Target” – no jumping! The “New It” then tries to hit the “Target” with the ball, without skipping the ball and no aiming for the head! The “Target” cannot jump out of the way, but can dodge with their feet planted on the ground or catch the ball. If the “Target” dodges or catches the ball, they become “It”. If the “New It” hits the “Target” with the ball and they don’t catch it, the “New It: becomes “It” and everyone gathers in a circle again. Gameplay continues until a final showdown between the remaining two players to determine the winner.

Spud Detailed Rules and Instructions

1. Have everyone share their name aloud. Then, choose someone to be “It”.

2. “It” gets the ball and the rest of the players stand in a circle around “It”.

3. “It” throws the ball up into the air and calls out any one person’s name.

4. As soon as “It” throws the ball into the air, everyone runs as fast as they can.

5. The person call out by “It” runs back and grabs the ball and screams STOP.

6. Everyone must stop at once. (Be aware that youth will try to get away with not stopping immediately. It might be good to have another adult just watching and making sure everyone is stopping when STOP is called).

7. Once STOP has been called, the “New It” (the person’s whose name was called and is now holding the ball) has 4 steps thy can take (S P U D) to reach the closest player.

8. The “New It” can’t jump, but can take as big as steps as they can – no more than 4.

9. The “New It” then picks out a “Target” person to throw the ball to try to get them out.

10. “New It” must hit the “Target” they choose, but no head shots.

11. If “New It” misses the “Target”, or if the “Target” catches the ball, then “New It” is now out and the “Target” is now the new “It”.

12. If “New It” successfully hits their target, then the “Target” is now out, and “New It” remains “It”.

13. Return to Step 2 – Gather everyone in a circle again and keep playing until only one person is left.

VBS Prayers Checklist(14 Ways to Pray For the Kids You Serve)

VBS (Vacation Bible School) is an event that many churches have at least once a year to teach their church children and/or local children in their community about Jesus Christ. This is a fun event for the children and a very important one also so praying VBS teachers are definitely at the upmost importance.

VBS teachers might want the prayers checklist (14 Ways to Pray for the Kids You Serve) for their Vacation Bible School kids below. This checklist includes these prayers:

  • Pray that the kids will come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.
  • Pray that the kids will love God with all their hearts, minds and souls.
  • Pray for their parents and families.
  • Pray that they will choose the right kind of friends that will encourage them spiritually.
  • Pray for spiritual stability during tough times in their lives.
  • Pray for the needs of their hearts that you may not know about.

Sunday School Ideas with Forms

Sunday School Ideas along with free forms such as Sunday School Registration, Sunday School Teacher Registration, Parent Bulletin, Policy, FRAN Prayer List, Emergency Phone List…

Here are some Sunday School Ideas below:

  • Sunday School Puppet Show – If your church has some puppets left over from their Children’s Ministry Ideas or Events use them in your Sunday School class. This is an exceptional way to reach these little children with lots of fun and a positive message. You can get some of the older youth to help you put these shows on.
  • Sunday School Christian Skits – If you have some skits in your Sunday School curriculum put them to good use. Most children love to put on skits and while having lots of fun they are learning more about the Gospel of Jesus with these Sunday School Christian Plays.
  • Simple Sunday School Lessons – If you are struggling with creating meaningful Sunday School lessons, I have a great affiliate that has created a gold mine of 168 unique Sunday School Lessons, PowerPoints, Activities, Prayers, Audios, and Much More for a very low affordable price. Now you can lead an amazing Sunday School program without the worry and stress of creating lessons.
  • Scripture Memory Games – Here are some creative Sunday School ideas to help your children memorize their scripture for Sunday School. 1) Write the verse on the board in the front of classroom and practice reading it with them once together. Then use a post-it note to cover up one word and say the verse and repeat this process covering up one word at a time until they have the full verse memorized. You can also cover up a word and let them try to guess it. 2) The teacher writes each word of the verse on separate index cards (different colors are nice) and mixes them up. Give each child a set of index cards that complete one verse. The children spread their cards over the table or floor face up to see who can unscramble their verse first by placing the cards in the correct order of the Bible verse. You can place these cards in zip-lock baggies and send them home to play at home to continue memorizing their Bible verse.
  • Sunday School Store – Want your Sunday School children to reach more children to bring with them? If so, create a little make-shift store that you can open once a month with toys, stickers, candies and other fun items for your class to save up for and spend their money (just purchase play money to give to them in class). Their parents and/or other members can donate these items for the store.

Church Nursery and Childcare Forms

Free Church Nursery and Childcare forms such as the Church Nursery Needs Form, God is in the Nursery Note, Church Nursery Registration Form and the Church Nursery Schedule is available free on the web to download and print…

Church nursery needs are a very important part of the Childcare Church Ministry. The church nursery can be so much more than childcare. But it begins with an awareness of the presence of God with the little children.

Did you know that God is back in the church nursery? “And Jesus took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” (Mark 9:36-37) When you welcome a child in the name of Jesus you welcome Jesus himself. When we minister to children – God is with us.

If you wonder why so many people are blessed by serving in the church nursery. Now you know – God is there. There is a special note for your nursery volunteers.

The Church Childcare and Nursery Needs form should be filled out 7 to 14 days prior any church event that would include needing the church nursery, and would need to be returned to the church office.

The God is in the Church Nursery note below is great with scriptures included to download, print and insert into a frame and hang in the church nursery to encourage all the nursery workers and even better the parents of these children.

The Church Nursery Registration form below is a very necessary form in the nursery before they can leave their children so you can have available the information you need on each child.

The Church Nursery Schedule is also available below to help you keep up with trying to cover the nursery with volunteers when needed.

If your church has a nursery, you will probably need one or more of these forms…

Permission Slip Forms

The Permission for Field Trips & Activities Slip is a form that must be filled out before you take any trip with any type of group of children whether it be church trip or any other kind of children’s activities. The parents must read, fill out and sign the form before their child can participate in any field trip or any youth activity. In some cases, depending upon your church, they might even have you notarize the form before returning it to the church office but of course this would be up to your specific church and their policies.

The Permission for Youth to Volunteer in the Children’s Ministry form is what the parent has to read, fill out and sign before their child can volunteer to help as a Youth Worker Volunteer in any type of children’s activity. They would be able to participate in such church activities such as assisting in registration, nursery, classrooms, special church events and much more with the supervision of the Children’s Ministry adult volunteers.

Field trips are very exciting and fun events for the children to enjoy and make memories. The church can make this a fun and enjoyable event for the children and at the same time make sure every child is covered by having the correct paperwork in place so there will not be any problem arise that might hinder the church from making sure the child is properly taken care of in the unexpected event of an emergency, etc.

When the Children’s Ministry at your church begins the long process of planning an all day or extended field trip, there are many very important details that have to be addressed first such as the availability of the church buses, cars or vans before you make reservations or purchase tickets for your field trip with the children so be sure to do your preplanning ahead of time to prevent any delays or cancellations occurring and disappointing a lot of children.

If your church participates in these field trip events, you will probably need one or both of the forms…
