Art and Design Personal Statement Example 3

Design is something that is a part of our everyday life. In our homes, in our towns and even in our wardrobes every aspect has come from a design. I believe that you have to be creative, self motivated and hard working when it comes to studying the different areas of art and design.

I am applying to your course as I think it has everything I am looking for and I will work very hard to get the best from it.

From a young age I have always been interested in creative subjects. I find it very exciting to see my ideas come together in a finished design.

One of my first design projects was a cross stitch project I undertook as part of my home economic junior certificate exam. I found this very interesting as it was something I had never done before. This challenge, I believe, has added to my passion in art and design and has given me a more broadened view on the subject.

Currently I am studying art and the history of art in school. This is my favourite subject and I enjoy it immensely as I find I work very well when actively and creatively doing something. The practical side of art has instilled in me a sense of self discipline and motivation. Each project I have undertaken involves a certain amount of research and design for different themes, which is both challenging and exciting.

Also on Monday nights I have been taking extra art classes to help me gain more confidence in drawing and sketching, a medium I find great enjoyment and relaxation in. At the end of November, I am also starting a part time dress design course in the Grafton Academy, Dublin, where I will study pattern cutting, constructing and design. In a time where our society is known as a “Throw away culture”, I am really looking forward to this course as having the ability to design and create something you can wear is very appealing to me.

Drama is also another aspect of my life that has brought my creative side alive. I have been a part of many productions of well known musicals such as West Side story and Grease and have taken classes in drama, singing and musical theatre. As many of the productions were of a small scale, we also designed our own costumes with what available resources we had which I feel shows my innovation towards creating garments.

During my transition year in school, myself and my friends decided to organise a fashion show in aid of breast cancer research. My task for this project was to negotiate with local clothes shops for the use of their clothes and to style the models for the fashion show. I really enjoyed working as part of a team and also I gained more confidence in my communication skills. Working to different deadlines was also challenging but I found it very motivating.

Another creative area in my life has been music. Since I was seven, I have been playing the piano and have just completed my 5th grade exam. I also study music in school. My music shows my confidence, dedication and hard work and I wish to continue playing for pleasure in the future.

Again during my transition year, I began working for one of the main Boots chemists in Dublin city during the Christmas period. Working in such a hectic environment, I had to learn quickly and apply my people skills to different situations to help customers get the best out of their shopping experience. I found this experience extremely beneficial as it was an environment I had never worked in before and I feel I applied myself whole heartedly and achieved a lot out of it.

I ultimately would like to undertake a career in an area of design. I feel the skills and opportunities your course presents is something that would help me achieve this.

The prospect of studying in the UK is one that excites me greatly. From researching through the internet and your prospectus, I find the creative environment your university has to offer, both in the curriculum of the course and the surrounding locality is also something that adds to my desire to study in your university.

Graphic Communication Design Personal Statement Example

Although growing up in a practical household full of businessmen, I’ve always been inclined towards art, and I recognise myself as a creative personality – being the first in my family to choose the creative arts as my future path. Art has always sparked as a simple interest, colouring books or presenting my imaginative world of anime onto paper. What made art so fascinating as a child was the unknown probability of reactions towards my artwork. I would see, perplexed, minds attempting to solve hidden puzzles in response to my artwork because I always hide a message inside every piece.

My interest in art never diminished as I continued my school years focusing on theoretical subjects but dring my AS and A level I took art as a subject which gradually improved my art and honestly it was the most enthralling subject among all of my other subjects. My interest in this field inflamed when I was introduced to the newly proposed subject- Graphic Communication through a course in Maya Academy that I took as a hobby during the lockdown. I learnt a few softwares there- Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Corel draw. My fascination for art continued to grow ever since.

Throughout my school years, I participated in several activities and one of my favourite activities was Duke of Edinburgh in my A levels and Odyssey of the Mind in my IGCSE 2, and both of them allowed me to explore more activities outside of school. I became my IT teacher’s teaching assistant and taught my classmates on how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate as it was there in our course. I played badminton and joined the music club in which I learned the keyboard.

Then, ‘The Odyssey of the Mind’ taught me problem-solving skills and leadership skills as I was the leader of my team and it was challenging for me because I have always preferred to work alone rather than with a group. However, through this competition, I learned that alone we can do so little, and together we can do so much. Volunteering at a home for underprivileged kids also helped me the most because it got me out of my comfort zone, speaking to people who come from completely different backgrounds, which has benefited me in every activity that includes communication with other people. My experience there has also enhanced my ability to communicate because we were all thrown in to talk to strangers.

During that time, I found a social skill I didn’t know I had, where I started to naturally make conversation with these people, being friendly. I also started an internship for a packaging company Epac Flexibles in which I gained a lot of experience in planning and decision-making.

My mind is constantly stimulated with inspiration no matter where I go. Living in the city of New Delhi, the capital of India, where there are massive amounts of tourists, brings up endless opportunities for me to explore and create. In an area of rich diversity, it is exciting to meet new people carrying their personalities and cultures. These people influence me with their adventures that open my perspective on the world which I enjoy recording in my art and would wish to share in college. In my belief, art is not only visual entertainment but a form of communication and storytelling and it is a path through which we can transfer emotions and change one’s perspective whilst learning from others is what makes art relevant in history and I also depicted this message through a few of my art pieces.

I also feel that I am very much influenced by my environment. Those around me have always inspired me the most, being able to see how a person works and choosing to communicate their designs, motivates me to work creatively too. I think that this has been the biggest factor when I decided that I wanted to apply to this college.

I am looking to study this exciting course in Communication Design and to meet creative and motivated people in your college. I am a self-motivated and broad-minded person and, as a bird, I am ready to gather branches and create a nest, and I wish this small nest could be at your college, where I am eager to fly and begin a new journey. Finally, I am keen to meet like-minded people with the skills and enthusiasm to be successful at college and in becoming a professional graphic designer.

Art and Design Personal Statement Example 4

I am anxious to become a creator, to design and produce things that somehow improve people’s lives, inspire them to become creators themselves – I grew up in a household full of music and art, and developed a fascination with the creations I saw around me. Before I decided what I wanted to do I knew that I wanted to create and tell stories, and I realised that there were different aspects of Art and Design beyond fine art that I could completely submerge myself in and never get bored; illustration, graphics, film.

Looking at the work of visionary creators such as Wes Anderson and Saul Bass have helped in deepening my knowledge and opinions on design, particularly for illustration and film, and given me perspective on something which was previously a hobby. This has given me confidence to experiment and attempt to produce pieces that will create change, no matter how small scale this change may be – for example, in one person’s life or even day. I have always loved how art can challenge me and how I think, and I have learned from it, realising that art doesn’t have to be traditionally ‘beautiful’; it can be whatever you want it to be. The aspects of design that fascinate me are those that surround us: Type, architecture, film. We live our lives in art, and I can’t wait to be a part of that.

Because of this I have tried to travel to as many exhibitions as possible, my favourite being the London Illustration Fair – the combination of so many different styles and approaches is fascinating to me and a source of huge inspiration in my own work.

Academically, I think that psychology and English have played very well off of art and helped me to understand the discipline holistically, as well as allowing me to continue with academic studies alongside art, something that’s important to me in both an educational and professional sense – when I’ve sold commissions or illustration pieces I’ve always tried to use aspects of literature and psychology to inform the mood and intention of the work, no matter how simple the design is.

Another example of the way other parts of my live have informed my art practice would be the three weeks I spent travelling in Europe in August 2015 – we visited ten countries, some with sublime scenery, others with bustling cities, and all with fascinatingly different ways of life, allowing me to draw on these experiences as inspiration for my illustrations. I love sketching quickly, getting the idea and shape of a subject rather than the finite detail, and being able to develop this. My experience travelling allowed me to have a plethora of fast-moving models right in front of me, giving me an invaluable store of references for my work, straight from life.

Externally to my studies at University, a thriving theatre department is something I’d love to take part in behind the scenes, working in the art department to really help a production come to life. As well as this, I was on the Student Union at my Sixth Form college, firstly as Equality and Diversity officer and then as a Student Governor, and I’m very interested in joining similar societies while at University. This position, along with my jobs and Silver D of E, encouraged me to develop my public speaking and debating skills, allowing me to voice my opinions more freely and enjoy working as a leader and part of a team – for example, I worked with my Equality and Diversity counterpart during Upper Sixth to help introduce gender-neutral bathrooms at our college, which I could not have been part of without the skills from Student Union.

After my Foundation and Bachelor’s degree, I want to study for a Masters in Production or Set Design or enter the world of production itself, to help me towards becoming a practising Production Designer or Art Director: careers which I believe would give me a life doing something I love and, most importantly, helping me to inspire others.

Graphic Design Photography Personal Statement Example

The main reason I came to England was to pursue my passion in Art and Design, to learn more about the different disciplines and to develop my creative thinking. My work is primarily concerned with communication and I deploy a broad range of approaches in its execution. I am particularly interested in combining photography with graphic design to communicate the message of the piece to a specific audience. It is for this reason that I am applying to do a BA degree to further my knowledge and understanding.
I am currently on a Foundation Diploma course at the Arts University College Bournemouth where I have enjoyed exploring a range of disciplines such as fine art, photography, graphic design and 3D design. I have also discovered the importance of the creative process and gathering primary and secondary research. Through my self-initiated project I understand how this approach to research can push the boundaries of my work taking it to a more successful, informed and coherent outcome. I have also had the opportunity toimprove my life drawing and observational skills, these sessions have helped allow me to experiment with a range of mark-making techniques and made me really look and document the objects or model in a more focussed way, trying to get the weight and character of the model. My studies so far mainly integrate Graphic elements to theoverall project design. My consideration of Graphic Design is to communicate a message, an idea or concept to be able to get it across implementing crucial visual communication methods. Essentially, to me it is what Art and Design is all about; communication. I admire the work of Neville Brody as his work very strongly communicates with the audience using a combination of typography and photography. I have found this method of working extremely influential as I use both photography and graphics in my work.

While at school I experimented with different disciplines in photography, including macro photography, which reflects on my constant interest of small and simple objects. Location photography which comes from my love of travelling, it also gives me endless opportunity to experiment with angles and lighting. Working in a studio always give me great satisfaction because of learning from experience and the opportunity of getting everything perfect and the way I envisage it. I am hard working and determined to achieve the best results possible – so I work until I get the result I desire. I have recently discovered the work of Jason de Graaf. I was excited to see that he not only used photorealism but also had a strong resemblance to the photography project I completed last year. The project involved researching and employing photographic techniques of high-speed photography, which would allow me to produce a series of works showing fast moving objects frozen in time.During the education I was awarded a highly commended status in fine art and photography.

Last summer I spent the season doing interior decorating. This enabled me to gain valuable experience in working in a professional environment and team working. In my job I had to consider the implementation of colour theory to real life situations. With one job in particular I was responsible for a project where I had to design an abstract piece of work that would match the interior design of a house. I am also passionate about driving which helped me realise the importance of decision making and how vital it is to being focused on what you do. I participate in a range of sporting activities such as football, swimming and extreme sports which has a big influence on my life because I know that pushing myself and exceeding the limits is essential in gaining knowledge and achieving my aspirations.

I am a hard working and motivated student who is keen to learn more about the subject area and do a course that will help me become a professional in the field of visual communication.

Photography Personal Statement Example 5

As I walk through the Sheffield city center I notice everyone stares straight ahead, eyes latched onto their path, But my eyes, as if incapable to control them are looking up, taking note of geometric shapes buried in architecture, how the afternoon sun is vibrant and providing. Naturally, my hand reaches for my camera and begins to set an appropriate aperture. I realize how photography has altered my perception of the world, given me the tools to interpret my surroundings uniquely, conjuring inspiration from the most insignificant of objects. For me Photography is more than just “technically perfect rendering”, it’s the ability to show emotion and tell a story through composition and lighting, I love to experiment with these two aspects as the minutest of changes can drastically alter ones perception and evoke particular feelings. I often take walked during different times of the day within the same route so that I may appreciate the effects the light has on the textural properties of my immediate environment. Often, the most beauty comes from the people along the way.

Capturing the raw emotion of situations that may evolve from something as trivial as a hug, a wave, a kiss. For me, this is why I’m naturally drawn photography. People. Whether candid or set up in a studio, I feel very connected to people and emotion, so being able to draw the essence of someone’s personality and capture it into a single frame is truly a remarkable and inspirational feat.

Despite having such a keen interesting in photography my early career choices do not reflect this, I believe due to lack of guidance. Even though I had keen interest in art I studied an Electrical installation course, which led to a career that did not particularly suit my personality. After much deliberation I chose to travel to Australia for 4 months, where I met many different cultures and experienced breathtaking scenery, this venture helped me grow substantially as a person especially in self-awareness. Upon arriving back home I made all the necessary enquiries about pursuing photography and found that due to having no A levels my best option was to enroll on an access course, the nearest being 2 hours away in Sheffield. At 23 I now live independently in Sheffield balancing a full time course, job and relationship so that I can finally be who I want to be. I can easily say that it has been difficult, especially having to fund all costs of me living here. But aren’t the hardest of endeavours the most rewarding? By living on my own I have become more independent, controlled, focused and aware of the value of money. Along with all my life experiences I believe I am more than capable of committing myself and my time into university whilst being able to cope with the many mental, physical and emotional demands it requires.

Having had an extremely busy year I have been unable to gain any experience hands on with another photographer, though I am very hopeful to gain this during the summer. Though I lack of actual experience I am very knowledgeable due to constantly having a book in hand or glued to a computer reading tutorials and entering competitions to better my technique and understanding. My inspirations are continuously growing the more I read but are mainly drawn from photographers such as Rankin, Markus Hartel, Ansel Adams and Rui Palha through both personal research and college work. My Interests include reading, playing rugby, photo manipulation, films and cinematography amongst others. I am extremely excited about the challenges of university and hope my ambitions will help pursue greatness in the industry.

Photography Personal Statement Example 4

I dream about photography… Memories of gazing through a finger marked window pane, camera at my side, the train rocking, objects passing, disparate perspectives through the lens. I think about the diverse ways in which photographs are interpreted. For me photography is a spiritual act, an inner conviction and a desire to abstract essence beyond the material world. I’m interested in something which is built up from within, rather than just a superficial image.
In stirring up excitement in me that connects with the innocence of childhood, spent just
drawing, designing and creating, simply for the love of it. My first camera, a Polaroid led to hours hunting bugs, flowers and dolls. This progressed to composing subjects through angle and lighting, learning from experience, constantly expressing myself visually. I am continuously inspired by the smallest and simplest of objects, I love playing around with light to create
different images and moods. I like how a photograph, unlike the other visual arts, is
eternally bound to reality in a more profound way. I am fascinated with the concept of the
real, and how people perceive objects and reality. This has been intensified through my
A-level subject choices. Photographs are ubiquitous, indeed they are so woven into the fabric
of everyday life that many people scarcely give them a second thought. I am aware that it is
increasingly difficult to define ‘reality’ in photography, now that we are living in a digital
age.

Despite my passion for photography I initially saw it best to pursue a science-based course,
seeing photography simply as a hobby. Being the eldest in a family of four I was influenced
that way. However after much reflection on what I want out of life, I changed my direction to
studying a subject that really matters to me. When I came back into education to study my
A-levels I began working with a wide selection of people from different backgrounds, I found
this move highly liberating and was able to adjust quickly both socially and educationally. My
choices of A-level subjects were selected so that they would give me a broad overview of life,
communication and culture. I feel this has broadened my understanding of photography further.

Studying Photography at A-level has enabled me to develop an independent and self-motivated practice. I have enjoyed discovering the many genres of photography, specifically landscape, still life and documentary photography. I find the work of photographers old and new highly inspirational. I am interested in the works of photographers ranging Simon Norfolk, Hyung Jeun Park and Sze Tsung Leong. I am drawn to these photographers as my most recent A-level project has involved looking at the effect of man on nature, our imprint, and how the world has adapted to fit our need for technology.

Through my Media Studies A-level I have been able to expand my analytical skills. I enjoyed
learning about the sales and marketing side of the media industry in relation to photography.
Pursuing Philosophy and Ethics at A-level has made me question my assumptions about how people think and act, it has left me able to think clearly, reason logically and argue with clarity
and conviction. I have learnt many new theories and concepts that have further improved my
understanding of cultures and history. I hope during a degree course in photography I will be
able to bring some of these concepts into my work.

I have been on work experience assisting a photographer and stylist, sourcing for shoots. This
experience allowed me to witness firsthand what skills are required for becoming successful
within the context of fashion and advertising. My interests include watching and analysing
films, drawing, dancing. Living independently has taught me how to adapt to new situations,
live on a budget and has prepared me for student life. I look forward to the challenges of
further study in photography, enabling me to pursue my future career ambitions in the
industry.

Illustration & Art Personal Statement Example

I have always enjoyed Art from an early age. My earliest memory of this is doodling on sheets of computer paper and cutting up old Christmas cards to make new images. I can remember spending most of my childhood just drawing and being inspired to make and design anything and everything! This love of Art has stayed with me and developed and grown and, now, I cannot imagine wanting to do anything else.

I have always wanted to work within the Art and Design industry because it has always felt like the right direction for me to take. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to go to an Art school and I now feel really lucky to have the opportunity to do so: I am feeling very excited about my future!

I enjoy being creative and I view Art as a natural way for me to express myself. I particularly enjoy drawing and how this allows me to create images in a way that I see them. I enjoy working in a figurative and detailed way and I aim to make my work expressive and visually interesting through tone and mark-making.

I feel, from my progression from G.C.S.E through A Levels to A.V.C.E, I am beginning to develop my own style and way of working. I particularly enjoy portraiture work and using animals as subject matter.

Whilst at Crosshall High School, I achieved seven G.C.S.Es, gaining a grade A in Art. I have since gone on to achieve three A levels and two A/s Levels at Runshaw college. I have completed an A Level in Fine Art, whilst there, and I enjoyed this extremely.

I found this course very challenging but rewarding as I had grown in my understanding of the discipline and I gained a grade B. I am currently completing an A.V.C.E Art and Design course. This two-year course has been very beneficial to me as I feel I have developed my skills within Art and have gained an understanding of the various disciplines within Art and Design.

This course has led me to my decision to specialise within Illustration. I enjoy creating images in response to a piece of writing or a particular theme. I like the creative freedom this allows and the vast potential for work.

My interests include reading and some of my favourite novels include To Kill A Mockingbird and Mary Shelleys Frankenstein. My favourite novel has to be Animal Farm because it is so well written and has great impact. I have recently carried out an illustration brief based on this novel and this was very exciting for me and, I feel, a turning point in my work.

I enjoy visiting Art Galleries and exhibitions. I am particularly interested in figurative portraiture and Illustration-based exhibitions. I have recently visited an exhibition about drawing styles at my local Art Gallery. I found this very interesting as there were varied styles and approaches to drawing( I especially liked Posy Simmons use of storyboards).

A few months ago I visited an exhibition for childrens illustrator Shirley Hughes at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. This had a great impact on me and was one of the factors that has led to me pursuing a career in Illustration. I love the way she combines her use of image against text and the way she uses media expressively.

At this stage, I am interested in childrens book illustration as there are so many quality, contemporary illustrations at the moment that I find inspiring. I see illustrations for childrens books as something worthwhile and or importance. They can capture a childs imagination and inspire and motivate them to learn to read.

I have worked for the past three years at a bakery as a part-time counter assistant. This involves such duties as dealing with customers, dealing with money and organising displays. I have really enjoyed this job as we are a fairly busy shop and so I meet a lot of different people and I find this very rewarding.

Prior to this, I have worked voluntarily at a local vets practise. I found this very interesting because I like animals and this was a chance for me to learn more about them. I have also been involved in an activity group for disabled children . This experience was invaluable to me as I met such interesting and amazing people.

The group activities included Art and Crafts and this taught me how Art can be therapeutic and< basically, just a worthwhile form of expression.

Photography Personal Statement Example 3

It is estimated that within the two hundred independent countries of the world there are 6800 different spoken languages, creating a huge expanse of language barriers, hand signals and lost translations. However, within this mass of worldwide confusion, pictures and photography can still be understood universally. Maybe it’s a cliched point to prove, but personally I think this underlines the concept that a picture can (with no specified language) speak a thousand words to a thousand different people. I find this idea of global understanding deeply fascinating and it is one reason among many which has propelled me towards the study and
creation of photography and the visual arts.

From a young age I have had an interest in pictures and drawing, which developed, as I got older into an interest in textiles and a love of fashion. From this I decided to do an introductory course at The London College of Fashion, and it was there that my idea to pursue a career in photography and art direction first occurred. I found that although I was interested in the logistics and business side of the fashion industry it was the compositions, vibrant images and individuality of the advertising campaigns that truly inspired me. Studying photography at A-level I have learnt the importance of individual style and personal reading;
seeing this put into practice in magazines and adverts led me to decide that with the aid of higher education I wanted to go on and work with photography and advertising.

I have always had a flair for business, completing GCSE, AS and A level exams with a high-grade average. I have learnt the importance of finances and budget restraints, which I think is a very valuable lesson to learn. By studying English Language I have been able to improve my writing skills and expand my knowledge of the way in which words can be used to influence and explain. I have found both these subjects to have aided me with various independent projects and have increased my understanding and ability to perform at a high level in different areas. When I joined The Henley College I began working and learning with a
wide range of different people from different backgrounds, it was a large change from the structured life of an all girls grammar school. However, I found moving to this environment and a new way of education highly liberating, I was able to adjust very quickly, both socially and to the educational practices. From this experience I learnt to be very open to new opportunities and places, which has helped me with the projects and jobs I have done.

There are a large range of skills required when working in commercial photography- an example of these being networking and perseverance. In order to gain a wider perspective into the challenges of this as a career, as well as my subject coursework, I have done freelance work on a number of occasions including photographing private events and parties. I found these jobs to be more subjective as I had to work to a very specific brief with tight deadlines; the results of such experiences I have found to be highly positive. I have learnt to compromise with difficult clients and have had one of my photographs printed in BCFA member directory as
part of an advertising campaign. However, the biggest learning curve I experienced was when observing work at a professional studio it was here I witnessed the patience and communication skills needed to become a successful art director. I think by working with lens-based media at a degree level I will be further towards gaining the attributes needed for this area of work.

From university I hope to go on to and work within the photography and creative advertising industry. I know the skills necessary are both creatively and academically challenging, but due to my ambition, social ability and general love of photography, I think it is definitely something I could excel at, given the opportunity.

Photography Personal Statement Example 2

Snap, and a moment is captured, forever still, saved for generations to see; whether it portrays a strong visual message, or simply an abstract composition. Whatever it is, I find it always stimulates something within my head, the urge to capture and portray the world as I see it.

Photography has always been a part of my life; I grew up in a house of photographers with both my parents having a dedication to photography, along with my granddad, and in turn his dad, being wedding photographers. Photography was in my blood from birth, so it was no surprise that when I bought my first SLR, a Canon 300D with 18-55mm lens, at the age of 12 I almost instantly had an eagerness to take creative photos that portrayed a message of some kind. Surrounded by this environment I have had so many opportunities which helped to improve my photography, shadowing my dad and following his techniques, helping me to find my own style and quirks. As my knowledge in photography expands, I still find areas and subject matters which I’m drawn to, and as the years pass, I Still find new ways to present an image, having it represent ideas more clearly.

I always find it particularly satisfying when I discover a new area of photography that I can really get my teeth into. One example would be when I discovered fire performance photography. From a young age I have always been keen on circus performing, and have a great deal of experience myself; ranging from diabolo and stilt walking. So when I was invited to perform with a fire performance group, I found myself constantly taking pictures of them, trying to find the perfect technique for each discipline. Testing and experimenting with exposure values, trying to get fire trails or freezing the flame, finding which worked best. From this experience I found my photography constantly growing and adapting.

Photography helped me to develop a keen interest in video production and web design. I found that the movement of video adds another dimension to photography, letting you portray messages and stories far clearer, even without the use of speech or words. When I first tried video I found myself thinking far more about my composition as subject can move in and out of the frame, I found this vastly improves my composition and timing of shots with stills photography. Web design made me think more about presentation and post production work in photography. I found this particularly useful when creating my portfolio website.

My subject set at A-level strongly reflects my keen interest in photography; choosing to take Art, Design Tech and ICT, all with applicable relationships to photography. Art helped me with my analytical skills, looking at artists’ and photographers’ work and relating it back to my own; helping me to pick out compositional elements that I enjoy and others which I would stray away from. Design Tech developed my skills at constructing and problem solving, taking a step back and figuring out what was required for the problem at hand. Finally, ICT vastly improved my ability to describe content and explain its purpose. This translates nicely into photography with subject matter and the reason for including it in a shot. Along with my A levels I also took it upon myself to achieve a NCFE level 3 in digital photography, studding though an online tutor and completing multiple assignments which gave me a further perspective into the world of commercial photography.

With my knowledge in photography as it is, I still find the urge to expand and polish my techniques. There are some areas that I would particularly like to progress in, such as film photography. The idea of learning what a camera produces, without a digital display fascinates me, along with the entire processing technique. It’s something that I’ve never really had access to and feel that this course would give me opportunity to try it. Given the opportunity and environment I feel that I could really excel and make a life for myself from photography.
